School project
The main objective

A nursery and primary school for children who have none

Habari Foundation is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit and faith-based charity founded in 2018 to serve education to kids in Tanzania. Based on growing community needs, the foundation is seeking a grant to construct a nursery and primary school so we can offer educational services to all vulnerable children — orphans, the poor, and all others in need.

The main objective is to provide free quality education that will equip underprivileged children and children from low-income families. Children from middle-income families will pay a little so the school can stay sustainable after donor support.

Why this school

Justification of the project

We want to improve the quality of education by preparing children for secondary school, raising achievement for pupils and teachers, and helping underprivileged children contribute to their families and the nation.

The right to education is reflected in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Tanzania’s constitution mandates free and compulsory primary education, but a lack of resources and infrastructure has made implementation difficult. We acknowledge that the government has invested in public education through secondary school and teacher training — and we work alongside that effort, not against it.

Project management

We will manage and coordinate the entire project, hiring an experienced local construction manager to supervise the crew along with stakeholders at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST). Coordinators report to Habari’s headquarters in the Kilimanjaro region, where a compiled report is sent to donors and stakeholders.
