Community health outreach
Key focus

HIV, malaria and healthy families

This program is designed to raise awareness among orphans, their families and communities on HIV/AIDS and malaria. It uses an outreach approach — taking information to people where they are.

It is a mobile program that educates all target groups in their own communities. It also links people to organizations already working on malaria and HIV so they can receive services. Together we provide suitable education for these groups. Every year the program holds at least seven awareness events.

How it works

Visit. Listen. Provide nets.

Mosquito nets

Visit the family and provide mosquito nets — a simple, proven way to cut malaria deaths among children.

Listen first

We arrange a time to visit, listen to the family, and together explore what could actually help.

Right services

We support and educate families about the importance of the right services for children’s health.

Targeted children

Vulnerable children in Tanzania who are subjected to wide and extreme violations of their rights will be disengaged from these situations through their participation in this program.

Women and livelihoods

The program intends to work with 50 families of vulnerable children and youth to improve their economic base — mobilizing families into economic support groups, training them in small business, and linking them to credit. It gives more opportunities to women as a way of empowering rural families.

Future plans

We intend to build a school in a village, enroll children from poor families, and support them with all basic needs.
