Someone commits to helping a child in poverty with financial and emotional support so the child can develop in a healthy, holistic way.

You help equip a child in extreme poverty with skills and opportunities — including medical checkups, malnutrition monitoring, vocation training and education assistance — through a local church and team that knows them personally.

A boy or girl living in a disadvantaged family, enrolled in our child development program, age 3 to 18, offered care so they can become mature adults with the best educational success.

You may stay with your child until they reach 18. You may discontinue at any time. If a family moves beyond the program, we will tell you and offer another child.

Public school uniforms and fees: $90. Private school fees and uniforms: $750. Temporary teachers for 4 months: $400. One full-time teacher for a year: $1,200.

Yes. Additional monetary gifts for special occasions are welcome. Staff who know your child will buy something they need. You can also send gifts for the family — beds, livestock or food.

Yes. One-to-one matching is why letters mean so much. It tells a child they matter.

Education (fees, clothing, supplies, tutoring or literacy support), health monitoring and hygiene teaching, and guidance that builds self-confidence and social skills.

Write as often as you like — letters are translated and delivered. Your child writes at least twice a year (up to six). You are not required to write. Sponsor trips to meet your child in person are encouraged.

No. We serve this local community first. We do not offer sponsorship outside Tanzania.

Absolutely not. Sponsors have no legal rights over the child and cannot take a child out of the country. Letters and cards can still inspire them.
